Cow Appreciation Day/Lavender Harvest Celebration (Washington)/I Love Horses Day/Respect Canada Day/Shark Awareness Day/No-Hitter Day
2006-07-15 @ 11:54 p.m.

Had seafood at Fisherman's Village in East Coast, and I came away thinking that eating crab's a really messy business. Oddly enough, I don't mind the taste as much as I thought I would. Anyway, thank God for Doris's car, or I'd have cabbed to East Coast and back, which was already insanely expensive before the taxi fare hike. Drove my quota for island-wide confidence driving today, so I'm going to rot in camp on Monday! Have started reading Ishiguro's When We Were Orphans, which is less weird than The Unconsoled, meaning it's a lot more like his first three books. Am hopping between books these past few days, because nothing I've been reading really grabs my attention by the neck. Did I mention I finished reading G.P. Taylor's Shadowmancer a few days ago? Didn't live up to its hype. Decent read, but nowhere near the Harry Potter series, contrary to what the blurbs at the back claim. Perhaps his subsequent books show improvement in the writing? Can you believe he's contracted by Faber & Faber to write a whole series for them? All that based on his literary debut. Wow...
