Applesauce Cake Day/D-Day Anniversary
2006-06-06 @ 9:53 p.m.

Perhaps I spoke too soon about life here being better than I'd expected. The sheer irrationality of some military personnel is astounding. Not that I intend to sound snobbish or anything, but I find there sometimes exists an inverse relationship between how well we're educated and how humanely we treat our fellow men. Yelling at people is more likely to breed resentment than compliance. I was brought up to treat people with respect, which happens to be a two-way thing that's earned. Don't ask me to swallow all that bullshit about military life being different from civilian life. The reason why you need to maintain such an iron grip is because you can't justify your method of doing things. Some people just don't get it...
