They only need six of us in TSI out of the eight posted back to SI, so the other two will get posted to other branches within SI, despite our warrant officer's jest that they'll convert to riflemen. Now I'm not sure if I should pass my driving course! Since everyone will still stay within SI, maybe it's better to try to get posted to a slacker branch? No matter. I'll just do my best, as I always do. One of my instructors is a contestant in Army Icon, which is kind of amusing. I didn't think his singing was very good today, but I voted for him anyway. My driving course will probably start in June, which is probably another prayer answered then, so it's nearly two weeks of 8-to-5 for me. (The reality is more like half an hour more at both ends, but I'm not complaining too much for now.) Post-trainee life will take some getting used to, just like post-recruit life did. I'm terrified of walking around SI now, as you keep bumping into all these officers, warrant officers and specialists that you're supposed to greet, but most of whom don't really seem to care if you do or otherwise. Have guard duty on Thursday because the number of trainees in SI has fallen dramatically. Reinforcements are only arriving in late June, so there's a slight chance of getting another guard duty even after this Thursday. Oh well, at least it looks like scheduling my worship practice next week isn't going to be a problem after all. I hope it stays that way... |
