No idea why, but I can never stay awake during a CCNA lecture by any of the DXOs. My final exam is coming up next week and half of my module exams are still undone! I vaguely understand all this networking stuff, hopefully well enough to pass the course, although it's quite impossible to fail when you look at the way we're being assessed. This is a waste of time anyway, since one of my instructors assures me that I will never need to use this stuff when I go to my new unit. Not within my job scope basically. Am not scheduled for guard duty this week, which is somewhat of a relief because I'm not mentally prepared for it just yet. Haha! I think my course commander's actually quite a nice guy. Not in the same way as my platoon commander in Raven 2, but still a decent chap. He has a very hard time keeping a straight face when he's talking to us, which I find really funny. To invoke a cliché, his bark is worse than his bite.

Has anyone else read either Borges or Calvino? I got an instant call from Thong, probably because he was bored. He's never read Borges, and it was I who recommended Calvino to him in the first place, although he didn't like what he read. I'm going to start buying Calvino's books once I've decided which edition to collect. The same goes for Nabokov's work, although you can actually find it all here.
