So yesterday was the thrid anniversary of my blog. Seens its fair shar of ups and downs, yeah? The Sunday Times ran an article about blooks. No prizes for guessing what those are. Would anyone buy my blook? Is the story of my life worth knowing? To quote from Love, Etc.: "Do we not, each of us, write the novel of our life as we go along? But how few, alas, are publishable." Have a mental nibble on that one. Speaking of books, I'm very glad that I bought that new translation of Jorge Luis Borges's fiction. That man is an amazing writer. In a way, he reminds me of Italo Calvino and Russell Hoban. (Hands up if you've read either of them!) I'm contemplating double degree combinations at NUS. It's two out of three - English, Philosophy and Psychology. Dad's not too impressed though. I suppose Economics and/or Law would please him more, but too bad for him, I'm not touching those. Had dinner at a nice Italian restaurant, Romano, tucked away in Thomson. Their linguine carbonara's quite good, which is the superficial manner in which I judge any place serving Italian food. Ditto for their tiramisu. I will endeavour to convince my family to eat there for the next few weeks until my course is over. Haha... This week: Library Week |
