Had my navigation exercise this morning, which was kind of lame. (Walking around Choa Chu Kang? Seriously...) Thank goodness we weren't made to carry rifles too. That would have been really dumb, even going by army logic. I'm sitting through a tutorial on TCP/IP that just goes over my head. Like I said yesterday, I've only got the weekend to figure it all out, all 11 modules of CCNA 1. Have nine connectivity diagrams to draw by Friday, which given my penchant for perfection will probably be a very time-consuming task. Wish me luck. These two years of NS couldn't possibly pass quickly enough. To some extent, I don't really care anymore whether I go overseas or not. I just want to skip to the next phase of my life. When I was in JC, I wanted time to slow, stop, reverse its progress. Now that I'm in national servitude, I desire time to hasten its onward march. Out of curiosity, maybe someone can answer this question for me - Is is possible for someone to go through BMT and come out unable to give simple drill commands in Malay? Peut-être, mais il faut qu'il soit sourd. That's my opinion anyway. I write this down only because I happen to be seated next to our current platoon i/c, who's another of those people who combine an astounding specialised ability (in his case, contract bridge) with an equally stunning ineptitude for everything else that matters during your two years of NS. |
