Am back home again! This week seemed to pass faster than the last two, so that was a good thing. Next week's a short one, even with the guard duty, so that's even better. Had our first taste of the vehicular equipment today, which was fun, even if it did involve a lot of waiting in the stuffy afternoon weather. Had a lot of free time in the morning because we covered the material assigned for four hours in our training schedule in less than half that time. My instructor rocks, period. Am halfway through the Borges anthology. Finished England, England during the abovementioned free time. I think the denouement is too compressed, albeit foreseeable. The scenario Barnes envisions, of the Isle of Wight becoming converted into a leisure destination that brings together what the world perceives to be the essence of England, is entirely plausible. For all we know, it could happen in this century, maybe even this decade...
