Chocolate Covered Raisins Day/Houdini Day
2006-03-24 @ 11:35 p.m.

Going to finish reading Flaubert's Parrot tonight. Then it's back to Jorge Luis Borges or Thomas Hardy. I need to start making notes for all the stuff I'm learning right now, or I'll never be able to handle all that information if I get posted to a signals battalion in future, as we don't get to bring our manuals along with us, so we really have to rely on our own notes if we need to refer to anything. Now you see why I want to get posted back to SI! Ah well, it can be done, as one of my sergeants in Tekong was fond of saying. I miss my Tekong buddies. My platoon is evenly divided between JC and polytechnic students, so it gets kind of lonely because there's a socio-cultural gap, even with the JC students. Mostly I talk to Wilson, since he's the person to whom I can best relate. Have an interview for the FIREfly scholarship next Friday. MPA has already rejected me because I couldn't make it down for their written test. SPH is waiting for my 'A' Level results, which essentially means they're too lazy to check Brightsparks or call me up to get me to mail them a photocopy of the results slip. Sigh...
