Dream Day/Frankenstein's Birthday

Attended a scholarship forum organised by IE Singapore, where I met Charmaine (another person I haven't spoken to in ages), Grace, Hao Wen and Liling. The forum was nothing much, but I must say that IE Singapore feels like a fun place to work at. The corporate culture seems more relaxed than you'd normally expect for a governmental organisation. I'm definitely seriously considering the FIREfly scholarship now, if only for the chance to work there. Followed Liling to the National Library, thinking that I could borrow some stuff to read during the next week or so, but I'd forgotten my card was with my mum. So I made my way to BooksActually instead. I'd won $100 in vouchers from the place thanks to the NUS writing competition, and I knew it stocked local poetry, which as I explained to Yumun, isn't something I normally spend money on because I don't exactly like a lot of it. I'm mostly just curious about what it takes to get published in Singapore, since that's one of my long-term goals. From what I've read so far, I'd say there's definitely quality work out there, but consistency is what's lacking. BooksActually is quite a cosy place, so do head over 125A Telok Ayer Street to check it out!
