I Value Our Friendship Day/Dream Of Your Sweetheart Day/Clean Out Your Computer Day
2006-02-13 @ 12:47 p.m.

So I put down in the EI survey that I'm interested in becoming a commander. Did it for two reasons. Number one: To please my dad. Number two: The money. As much as I try to deny it, the materialist in me, that alter ego who so desperately wants to be able to shop freely in places like Paragon, finds it hard to slam the door on the higher pay of a commander. I still really want to get into MDC, but if I really have to be posted to command school before I find some excuse to downgrade myself, I'd rather go to OCS than SISPEC. At least if I get posted to OCS, there's still that invitation to apply to be a pilot waiting on my desk back home. Now my prayer (almost) every night is that God will grant me what I desire and let me get into MDC. (Never before have I wished to be more myopic!) If your motives are a mixture of selfish and selfless, where does that leave you, morally speaking?
