Pie Day
2006-01-23 @ 3:35 p.m.

We're having a technical break today. Just one of those things that constitute army welfare in this enlightened day and age. It's halfway through field camp, and I must say that things have been a lot slacker than I imagined they would be. Even sleeping outfield isn't so bad. (I just wake up every three hours or so, that's all!) My buddy's snoring is freaking annoying though. I know I snore occasionally, but not as bad as that! I had to shake him awake twice last night. Otherwise, I wouldn't have got any rest. Incidentally, I've stopped missing most modern conveniences, except for toilets with plumbing. Relieving yourself outfield is a most singular experience. By the way, I think fresh rations are overrated. It's still cookhouse food! Am bitching with a bunch of people right now, and it is very therapeutic. Very.
