New Year's Eve/New Year's Resolutions/Champagne Day/Make Up Your Mind Day
2005-12-31 @ 12:17 p.m.

I think I've figured out why I can't edit a particular section in my PSC application form. It's because it contains a non-standard character, "ç". That's really stupid, if you ask me, especially since the form doesn't prohibit you from entering such non-standard characters. (It's hardly my fault for having learnt French!) Have worked around my problem by deliberately including an inaccurate record, which I've asked the PSC to delete when they receive the application, since they claim they can amend it and they told me to submit the form anyway. Had to include it because the form would have been incomplete otherwise, and I sure as hell wasn't going to wait for the PSC to get back to me on a problem that they claimed they were rectifying three weeks' ago! Actually, I bet they won't rectify the system error or amend my application. It's a lot easier to just dismiss one application for supplying inaccurate information, despite it being no fault of mine when you think about it. That's why I've kept copies of all my e-mail exchanges with the PSC as insurance. What counts for paranoia elsewhere is quotidian in this place. I really should start censoring myself more...
