Did two decent essays and one really rushed and barely coherent essay, so a Merit should still be achievable. In any case, it's too late to worry about anything! My dad just made such a ridiculous suggestion. He suggested I go running if the weather's fine over the next few days. If you don't already know, I'm being enlisted for PTP on December 9. Since the purpose of PTP is physical training, is there much of a point in my doing any before I go in? I suppose there is, but marginal cost versus marginal benefit? Yes? No? Watched Prime today, which was saved from being a typical Hollywood romance flick by Uma Thurman's excellent performance. I think they should have used more makeup to conceal her eye bags, but hey, maybe it adds realism to the movie. 23-year-old guy falls for 37-year-old divorcée, the only problem being that his mother's her therapist, which is a major conflict of interest. (Picture Thurman's character spilling the beans on her sex life with Bryan Greenberg's character to Meryl Streep's character.) They don't end up together in the end, as she doesn't want him to make choices that he may live to regret. How touchingly sacrificial (and I'm not being sarcastic here). Such a pity! Their onscreen romance is the kind that diehard romantics everywhere dream about. (I want to love and be loved like that!) Looking at pictures taken by Yann Arthus-Bertrand in the Earth From Above series right now. Chernise told us about the exhibition, so we went to take a look at it along Orchard Road before catching Prime. Amazing stuff! Here's the link if you want to check out the gorgeous photography yourself. I feel like buying the books of photographs being sold at Borders... This week: Festival Of Trees (Utah) |
