Just saw the first episode of auditions for Star Idol. Went to the Mediacorp website to check out the finalists, and believe it or not, a lot of them looked worse at their first press conference than when they auditioned. There were exceptions, but those were the ones who looked ugly at their auditions anyway. Isn't that sad? Incidentally, studying in school is amusing! Random moments like me asking Eugene how to conjugate the passé simple (because I suddenly wasn't sure about the conjugation for "vous", and I realise that my Chinese and French are becoming rusty), or Nasty's theory that vegetarians are a dead end in the food chain (and they're only at the second trophic level), or Benuel's comment about whale-watching that sent our conversation down the drain (which was only made worse when Bernice walked back into the room, totally clueless). Really, the only thing that was missing in our room was a video recorder! Some things you have to witness in order to believe. Less than one week to the start of the 'A' Levels...
