Grandparents Day/Patriot Day
2005-09-11 @ 8:59 p.m.

Finished my personal statement at 3 am! Think it's not bad for something written in less than a week. Many thanks to Shen Ting for defining Tchaikovsky syndrome for me. I will bear that in mind tomorrow, as I write a couple of crummy essays for European History. I hope the French Revolution question is easy, and I'm betting the new imperialism question is a hard one. I'm going to be totally random and irrelevant for the next couple of sentences. Don't you think "Thermidorean reaction" is such a cool phrase? I honestly regret not studying French Revolution for my past tests. French names are really nice, at least in comparison to German ones. I mean, Robespierre versus Bismarck? It even looks more aethetically pleasing when typed out. I think Italian names come a close second; Cavour sounds like a decent name. Not too sure about Mazzini though, one 'z' too many there. It's a shame Italy isn't called Piedmont instead. Piedmont-Sardinia is a lot grander than Italy, don't you think? I am in a good mood at the moment, despite impending doom in less than 12 hours, as I've just bought a new pair of New Balance shoes. Amanda Soon got me four copies of the ZoCard with the 100-word epic entries printed on it! I could have got them myself, but I was too lazy to hunt for them that day when I was at Borders. (She found them at NYDC.) Knew I should have checked...
