FOP was good, even if I didn't know all the songs. Not so hot on the queuing bit though, inevitable as it may be. I like Hillsongs! I completely understand why some people are uncomfortable with charismatic worship though. I think there is pressure on non-believers to convert at such high-profile events. One can only pray that those who do accept God are doing it for the right reasons. Chatted with Amanda Soon on the bus. I never realised she was from the 2003 Humanities batch, Geography student. She remembers Mr Purvis's anti-church rants very well, although I think he's mellowed somewhat since her time. No 'S' Paper today, so I bummed with my classmates who stayed in school for lunch. Ms Lim conducted her first revision lesson for Antony & Cleopatra today, which reminded me of what a nice teacher she is. The chocolates helped, naturally! Seriously though, she just feels more approachable, both as a teacher and as a person, kind of like Mr Batchelor and Mr Rollason. Call it soft-sell if you like, but people were actually volunteering to answer her quiz questions for the chocolates. Contrast that with the stony silence that usually follows one of Mr Purvis's questions. Anyway, I'm annoyed that voting for the 100-word epic competition is down. Vote for me! I'll post the link once the site's up and running again. |
