Peach Ice Cream Day/Ice Cream Cone Day
2005-07-17 @ 10:30 p.m.

Went to Swiss Cottage Secondary School yesterday to help the students prepare for their orals. Gave this girl 35/40 because she was freaking good and confident, but most of them were average. I wonder what the students thought about me? Hope they didn't think I was crap, because I'm going back again next week to avoid College Day. Right now, I feel incredibly puerile, as I'm haggling with Toh Hsien Min over how to edit two lines of my poem. I hope he's not cross with me, though I doubt people actually get mad at strangers. It feels quite odd to be exchanging e-mails with someone you've previously only heard about. I downloaded Google Earth this morning, and it's kind of creepy. It's the sort of programme that terrorists would use actually, if they aren't already doing so. It is interesting, although I'm somewhat piqued that they didn't bother to scan Antarctica in much detail. I mean, that continent's one of the few places that almost everyone isn't going to see in their lifetime, right? So at least show it to us here! Haha, that sounds stupid. Was a bad boy today, because I didn't go for service. Popped over to Cafe Galilee with the girls after YE because none of them wanted to go in for service. Felt guilty about missing communion though, which I'd intended to go back for, but my mum didn't see my SMS until the service was over. I don't like the milkshakes at Cafe Galilee! Too milky and watery. Found The Portrait Of Mrs Charbuque by Jeffrey Ford in the library though, which was one of the books I wanted to get at the Times warehouse sale a while back. Kind of regret not doing so now, because the book's quite readable compared to a lot of stuff I've bought. Eugene's going to run with me again tomorrow, for which I am immensely grateful. (I suspect he only agrees because he wants to get nice legs by running. Am I right? Confess!) I'm thinking of going to Topman tomorrow to look for a t-shirt, and perhaps Borders or Kinokuniya to look for Gunn and Larkin anthologies. Knowing me, I'll probably do none of the above except the running bit. I don't want to go to Orchard alone! I'm okay with being alone pretty much anywhere else. Orchard just feels boring if you're alone. I really want some nice threads though. Not much point in them being new if I think I look like crap in them...
