I like the song, Jesus Generation, very much! I learn something new everyday, even if doesn't contribute towards my amorphous aims for the Common Tests. Apparently, "so help me God" in yesterday's entry isn't a reference to God, or to any god for that matter. An article I glanced at earlier tells me the following: "I suspect that most Americans would be surprised to learn that the courts have said that 'In God We Trust' and 'so help me, God' are not religious references to God, but simply a 'secular' and 'patriotic' way of getting us to trust the government." Now isn't that fascinating? If anyone replies to that rhetorical question, his/her head deserves a good knocking. Clara's hawking her 'A' Level notes, which are very, very tempting at this point in time. Is the motivation to study directly or inversely related to the importance of the examination? Yi-Xun messaged me to tell me his SAT I score. He beat me in the Math section, which is either amusing or sad, depending on how you want to look at it. Never mind. Thanks to him, I remembered to check my SAT II scores. Very happy with them! 770 for French, 800s for Literature and Math 2. If only I could be as lucky come next week... |
