SAT II went fine, given the little preparation I did for it. Ironically, I thought the Math Level 2 test was the easiest of the three. Lucked out for a couple of French questions. (I knew because I checked the French dictionaries at Times once I got out.) Then I got Yumun's message asking me about the psychometric assessment. Technically, we weren't supposed to go today because of our SATs, but in the end we figured we'd just crash and see if they'd be flexible enough to let us in. Turns out they were, and they didn't even kick up a fuss or anything. Very impressed by that actually, because I didn't think this sort of mentality existed anymore in the government machinery. So I ended up going without lunch for a very boring series of tests. Okay, the pattern recognition one was sort of fun, but the rest was just painful. I am so not mathematical or logical! Endured over roughly four hours of hunger, until I finished. Sneaked a glance around to check if anyone else was done, and Yumun indicated she was, so we hastily exited in search of food. We were soon joined by Mark Tan and Hong Wee, and finally Mark Chen and Matthias. After a prolonged discussion over where to eat and how to get there, neither of us actually ate anything eventually, because we ended up riding the train home with Matthias. I need food. Now. |
