Memorial Day
2005-05-30 @ 11:20 p.m.

We get Star Movies at The Twin Towers Hotel, and I caught this hilarious romantic comedy, Hope Springs, starring Colin Firth, Heather Graham and Minnie Driver. The dialogue had its good moments, quite surprisingly. I want to go to the lounge during 'happy hour', but I've got no idea what everyone's room numbers are, so I can't call them up. Going to rush through a practice test for Math Level 2, and then it's off to bed to recharge for another round of UN lectures. The most entertaining lectures today were delivered by the two most photogenic staff - a Swedish man and a Frenchwoman. He was engagingly dynamic, never sitting down throughout his entire presentation, while she was amusingly blunt. Did you know that the UNAS just donated three times as much money to the WFP this afternoon as the Singapore government does in one year? It's quite a shame really, and it's not like the government can't afford to help more. Just because you don't see starving kids on the streets in Singapore...
