Pick Strawberries Day
2005-05-20 @ 11:33 p.m.

Didn't do the Frost essay in the end, but I've finished reading The Virgin Suicides. Chernise says it's sensationalist. I disagree, but I think the ending is the weak point of the book. Granted, there doesn't seem to be much of a point to this extended reminiscene about the five Lisbon girls, but it's a believable account as far as it goes. Quite agreed with Mr McConnell's lecture today about tastes versus opinions in literature. James Joyce sounds like an interesting read, especially A Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man. "Invidious" is a very nice word, even if its meaning is negative. I want a better genetic heritage. My latest discovery at Download.com is Temple City, which sounds okay so far. Want to get rid of Bassic from my MP3 collection, but the pains I took to build up the 100+ track collection is somewhat of a deterrent. Incidentally, I might get the two Ikarus albums after all, because I read a review of the latest album, and it sounds like the sort of stuff I like. I need money. I knew I shouldn't have bought so many books!
