Orange Juice Day/Naked Day/International Firefighters' Day
2005-05-04 @ 8:04 p.m.

Am going to be very disciplined and write the Hardy essay by tonight, as well as get some practice done for SAT. Need to take at least two more mock SATs before Saturday if I'm not going to study at all. Incidentally, can anyone recommend me a book that deals with human relationships? If I'm doing Hardy's poetry for English 'S', I don't think there's much point doing a Hardy novel too, so I need something to compare with A Home At The End Of The World. I do not want to read Austen, thank you very much. Preferably a classic, but I'll read a modern work if all else fails. A.S. Byatt's Possession perhaps? I should speak with Mr Purvis about it before the holidays. He made my week yesterday, because he said something that I said during GP was intelligent. (Ever so often I ask myself why I need his validation and approval, and I still don't know how to answer myself.) The irony of speaking up during the one lesson that I'm quite dismissive of did not escape me. On a different note, I hate the new song we're playing for our concert already, and today was the first time I played it. It's an arrangement of Josh Groban's You Raise Me Up, which I've never heard and have no desire to hear. The song bores me to tears. I like our other songs a lot better. Please come for our concert on May 17, and make me happy!
