Administrative Professionals DayŽ/Childcare Professionals Day
2005-04-27 @ 10:26 p.m.

No guitar today, and Mr Rollason moved his tutorial to Friday, so I got off at 11 am. Went down to Kallang to watch Hui Juan's squash match against RJC. Obviously, I changed out of my uniform. If you're wondering whether I felt conflicted supporting the ACJC team, the answer is no. The number of people I know in RJC Squash, and not all that well either, can be counted on one hand. (One of them's actually a girl whom I occasionally see on 806 in the morning.) Besides, just because I'm a Rafflesian doesn't mean I have to mindlessly support everything Rafflesian. I have a confession to make: I think squash is incredibly boring to watch. I have another confession to make: I hate hearing school cheers. No, not because they were ACJC cheers, I have an aversion to cheering in general. (Privately, I'm not convinced it makes much of a difference.) As expected, I got lost trying to find the match venue. At least it wasn't entirely my fault this time...

Dance Night tickets went on sale at 11 am today, and sold out within the first hour. I got a Friday night ticket, along with just about everyone else I know who'll be going. I've never seen queues like that for any other school performance, not even Raffles Players or Chorale. Must have been Liling's reminder to the school that there are 40% less seats but 20% more students. The whole thing was a very nice illustration of demand and supply, except that the price mechanism wasn't in operation. I can well imagine Dance Night tickets being sold on the black market! Although she did tell me that they might be allowed to open another night, but I think four consecutive performances is just madness, and it's our wonderful school administration that's partly (if not totally) to blame. Go RJC...
