Cheese Fondue Day/Civil Rights Day
2005-04-11 @ 11:57 p.m.

Just got back from A Tempo XVI, which I really enjoyed. It's nice to get away from things on your own terms. By that I mean being the person who decided to go for something in the first place. I want to watch Porcelain and Boeing Boeing, which both end their runs before POP! The only way I'll get to see them is if I go alone during the school week, because between SYF and POP! I've got no weekends left over. Anyway, the music was good, as expected for RJC Symphonic Band, but I wasn't too keen on the emceeing. Don't get me wrong, all of us who went agree Jennifer was absolutely beautiful in her outfit. It's just that the banter between the emcees didn't quite come out the way it should have, to put it nicely. Went to the concert with Eugene Oh because Vaish cancelled at the eleventh hour, quite literally. Anyway, he's a nice person to have around because we can talk about the people around us in French and no one's the wiser! He's lent me Jack Kerouac's On The Road, which I'd promised to read if someone who is the antithesis of Yi-Xun and Jon Yap read it and liked it. (I don't think Dan counts.) Had dinner at O'Brien's, which is always nice, although Sophia's ideas on what real men eat are really strange. Too bad I didn't have enough money, or I'd have dragged the rest down to The Chocolate Bar after the concert. Have discovered that MPH has those Christian Jacq books on ancient Egypt that I've been meaning to get. Now to decide what to do before Chorale's concert...
