Telephone Day/Money Day
2005-03-10 @ 10:36 p.m.

The princess of Brunei came to visit our school today, but I didn't see her. Not that I wanted to really. I've just read a strange thing on CNN.com. IKEA has been accused of discrimination for only depicting men assembling furniture in its manuals. Hands up those of you who are laughing right now. There is a point beyond which the push for equality becomes laughable, and I think this qualifies. Anyway, I slept for 10 hours yesterday, a combination of flu and chronic lack of sleep. The result, needless to say, was amazing. I stayed awake and alert throughout the entire school day! GP yesterday was okay, except I think my essay was rubbish. I had the singular misfortune of being drawn to the same essay question as Yi-Xun. Haha, should have seen it coming actually. Yi-Xun's really the sort of person who would choose that question. Oh well, who cares, really? It's only GP, and Common Test 1. I've decided to go for the kelong trip, if only because I need to get away from everything that constitutes my life here, just for one weekend. I just finished reading The Great Gatsby about an hour ago, and I feel really sad for Gatsby. A few months ago, I would have identified with his character to the point of sliding into a black mood for a day or two, but I suppose I've moved on. Let me get back to you on that another time though, just to be certain.
