Cool! The RJC library actually has some nice movies, like Chocolat. Of course, it also has crap like Village Of The Damned, which I borrowed because I need to watch something B-grade once in a while. Anyway, forgive me all the people I'm about to offend, but I don't like E.M. Forster's writing. Discovered that during the lecture today. Can't really explain why, I just don't. I'm going to sleep soon, just because I can. Sleep debts can't be repaid, but that won't stop me from trying! Have temporarily given up on Tutorial 13B, because I'm stuck at the first challenging question. I figure I might as well spend the rest of the week reading, since I think the odds of us actually finishing that tutorial when Mr Tay plans to are slim. I've promised myself not to buy another book until I finish reading five of the ones lying about my room. A promise that I'm quite likely to break the moment I have some spare cash, but I deserve credit for trying! Instead of the Gunn anthology, I bought another two Hardy books because I went to Kinokuniya instead of Borders, but still can't find the ones I'm looking for. Thong says he's ordered them and they're coming in April. Random thought: Don't you find it weird when people think they know something, when they actually don't? Like pronouncing our school motto. Strictly speaking, he's still wrong, because "c" is always pronounced as "k" and "v" is always pronounced as "w" in classical Latin. It's ecclesiastical Latin that introduces the English "ch" and "v" sounds he uses. I think he gets the diphthong "ae" wrong too, but I can't remember for sure. (I have no idea why I just typed all of that, except that it irritated me when I was in choir back in RI, and it still irritated me on Saturday.) This week: International Flirting Week |
