Moving from Mount Sinai to Bishan was pretty boring actually. The train ride was over in a flash, relatively speaking. We played three rounds of Mafia in the front carriage, and that was it. The funniest things that happened today were seeing Yang Wei emcee at the old campus and then we realised Jennifer was emceeing at the new one, and when Shiqi gave the wrong command at the new campus. The tour was routine stuff, but the new campus has really cool facilities, even if the architecture feels very impersonal. Like the library, which has too much metal in it. Our new classroom is nice though. It has potential! We should buy a portable air-conditioner, or at least a few more fans. New timetable rocks! I'll be home by 5.30 pm on days when I have no CCAs, which is unprecedented since I entered RJC. Ah, the joys of being the one living close to school now! Then I went out for lunch with my class, or whatever was left of those who showed up today. Watched The Phantom Of The Opera with Dan and Thong. Yi-Xun's right about Christine gazing slack-jawed at the phantom. The "flash-forward" sequences are very disruptive, but the singing is (sometimes) sublimely beautiful, especially Christine's. The sung conversations are sometimes unnaturally strained though. I loved the winter scene in the graveyard! The statues are so beautiful, and the whole scene verges on monochromatic, but suddenly a red glow fires up from within the chamber where Christine's father is buried. I like autumn and winter. Spring is too delicate; summer is too frivolous. The masquerade ball was also cool. Makes me want to attend one of those someday. Oh yeah, almost forgot. The opening scene is cool! Colour bleeds into the scene as the main theme plays. Somewhat freaky, I think. Listening to Who Am I by Casting Crowns, which is one of those Christian songs that just happens to strike a chord with me. "Not because of who I am, but because of what You've done. Not because of what I've done, but because of who You are." Thank You, God. |
