Not having had the chance to go online, I bought my CDs without the benefit of what passes for public opinion here. I bought The Very Best Of Era and The Dark Side. The former is good, in the sense that it puts all my favourite tracks on one CD. The Darren Tate remix of Looking For Something is ghastly though. As for The Dark Side, it's a stupid concept album. You can't make out any of the words, and the whole thing is just loud and ugly. I know there aren't many good pop songs left to cover, but Gregorian was really desperate to make The Dark Side. Didn't even bother to listen to the whole thing, because all the songs sound the same. I'm going to buy the Amethystium albums next. If Auracle and Evermind never make it to Singapore, I'll just have to buy them through Amazon.com, which will cost more, but it can't be helped. Went to Sentosa today with YE people. My fourth visit, unlike poor Shirley. Haha! Will you believe that I played half a game of soccer? I injured my finger during volleyball. My parents are of the opinion that it's fractured, but since I can move the finger normally, or at least as much as the swelling permits, nothing to be done there. Even if it is a fracture, it's probably a hairline fracture, because I've been feeling the bones of this finger and comparing it with its counterpart on my other hand, and it feels normal. Then I went down to Orchard to find a William Blake anthology, which I did. The complete poetry and prose of Blake, no less. Tempted to do Blake for 'S' Paper... Walked around for a while with the people who were doing Christmas shopping. Bumped into Yanfen at Heeren. Then I walked back to the MRT to meet my OG. An impressive total of nine people showed up for the OG dinner! Could have been more, but there were quite a few last-minute cancellations. After dinner, we wanted to catch a movie, but we couldn't agree on any of the movies at Lido. So we relocated to Cineleisure. Bad move, because Stephen Chow was there. The place was packed! We ended up playing one game of pool, which I won. The guys did anyway, because the girls just sat there and watched! Dance practice tomorrow... |
