The Internet's Birthday/Frankenstein Friday/Republic Day (Turkey)
2004-10-29 @ 11:38 p.m.

Today was the last day of proper lessons for this school year. I can't describe it in any other way but intense. Within less than a year of JC life, I've had a crazier time than the whole four years of secondary school put together. For someone who generally lives on the fringes of school society, that's saying something. Quite fitting then, that the last school day was marked by a flurry of cancelled and shifted lessons, and then skipping French for a play instead. I could have gone for French, where they watched À La Folie Pas Du Tout (and liked it a lot), but I was quite content sitting in the food court at Cineleisure reading a book. Bought the Samaria trilogy today, because Kay Hwee generously offered to loan me money for my trip to Kinokuniya, since I was completely disinterested in LANning. Then I headed over to the library@orchard to grab more books. How's this for being lonely? Try walking down Orchard Road alone in the afternoon.

Finally managed to get everyone to come down for dinner at Burger King. Was very nearly late for the play, which tends to happen with big groups. This was by far the biggest group ever for a trip initiated by one of us. At least Thong was the one coordinating things this time! Got somewhat lost trying to bring Chun Long to SRT from Clarke Quay MRT. Only figured the way there eventually because I retraced part of the route we took after watching The Woman In Black. The Physicists was good, even if Act 2 was too didactic. I was quite impressed to learn from the programme booklet that the guy scratching at the wall behind the couch is actually a VJC student doing Theatre Studies & Drama. Claudia expressed great jealousy at that, extending to a (mock) desire to kill him. I liked the music they used though, very percussive. The opening scenes of both acts were really mad, which I liked a lot too. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's The Visit Of The Tai Tai and Mamma Mia!
