Eat A Pretzel Day/Used Car Day/Dussehra/Pumpkin Festival (New York)
2004-10-22 @ 10:24 p.m.

Running between four CCAs during Open House is actually manageable, since only Yvonne was forcing me to stay put and do stuff. Not to be overly critical, but I hope she's realised that Economics does have value as an academic discipline. I spent most of the day walking aimlessly around the campus, trying to sell RA magazines for about two hours, before I went back to help f(x) sell French food. That was after the mind-numbing experience of playing Taboo at the CWC booth. Anyway, I finally got one of those RJC bricks! Bumped into Ben, so I persuaded him to pick one up for me when he next passed by the foyer. Then it was off to the CWC forum. The topic was clichéd - Why write? The comments it elicited were lucid, even if they were also clichéd. Ms Ho is right in that respect; we have rather naïve ideas about writing in Singapore. Kept my mouth shut during the forum, because I didn't even want to be there. I know most of the speakers felt that way by the end! Hope they weren't too turned off RJC by her...
