Just listened to my parents planning a short holiday to Ko Samui in November. They're planning to leave one day after one of my French papers, and come back two days before the other. I don't mind in the least though, because of where we'll be staying. Sounds like some nice big place, with a gardener and maybe even a cook. It'll be nice to try that kind of life for a while. My dad's worried that I'm hankering after too many material comforts and pleasures. I suppose he's right, but why do I feel only the slightest twinge of guilt at that? Speaking of French, there's been a miracle of sorts. Not only did I not fail my orals, I did damn well if I may so, considering how badly I thought I'd fared. Either the examiner wasn't really paying attention to me, or I'm too self-deprecating. Haha! I just discovered that the actual 'AO' oral date clashes with the practical criticism paper on 5 October, which is kind of my favourite paper at the moment. Shall go read The Return Of The Native, which has a really nice cover in a sad sort of way...
