French oral this morning was quite a disaster. I bet I failed! I forgot the middle section of my presentation, so I just stumbled my way through and made the rest up. I made it through the first paragraph, then my mind froze and all I could remember was the last paragraph. Oh well, at least the second part with the questions wasn't as disastrous, though I believe the examiner was wondering how the hell I managed to get through four years of French. He smiled every time he corrected me, which was not very often because I was smoking with a lot of conjuctions. Now all I have to do is screw up the written and listening papers next week, and I'm all set to jump. Not off a building, mind you, but to Latin. Then again, I really should relearn my French grammar. Just because it deserts me when I need it doesn't quite justify my deserting it after nearly five years. Intuition, quite obviously, isn't all that it's made out to be. Oui, je suis un half-baked francophone!
