Today has been a mad whirlwind of activiy. So much can happen in one day, let alone during one hour of conversation. I was quite upset in the morning, because I discovered so many new scratches and dents on my guitar during practice. Well, shouldn't be too surprised, because I don't really take very good care of it! The songs we're playing for our lunchtime concert are really boring. At least my section's part is boring, but that means it's really easy to learn and memorise. Anyway, I like doing improvisations, even if they are terribly repetitive and hampered by my inability to spontaneously come up with patterns I can play. After practice, I changed into my funky Arts faculty t-shirt and went for RA meeting. The shirt is seriously damn cool. (It's cooler than all the other faculties'! Honest, I swear!) Anyway, I didn't know Mrs Leong was the teacher-in-charge for RA. I'm supposed to come up with an article about surviving life after Common Tests. My favourite suggestion? Partying. That brings me to Mel's birthday party, which saw a rather eclectic bunch of people showing up. Mel's youngest brother, Keane, is really cute. He like stuck to Chun Long the whole day! I have a dozen photographs on Kay Hwee's handphone as evidence. Anyway, back to the eclectic bunch of people. First there was her good friend, Sheldon. Then Yvonne turned up with her French correspondent, Cécile, and a DHS guy with his correspondent. They left pretty early though, considering I stayed till a quarter to midnight. (What the hell was I thinking?) Had a nice time playing Trivia Pursuit in the afternoon. I got five consecutive answers correct at one point. It was damn funny! I got into trouble for coming home so late. Sometime past 12.30 am, to be exact. (What an interesting juxtaposition of words.) Nonetheless, I do think it was worth it. Found the sort of honesty I've been looking for. I've never been so candid in my life. No mean feat, considering I was sharing the (tortured) vignettes of my life with people whom I've known for only about half a year. I've made up my mind about you. I know I deserve better than you, and I'll be damned if I'm not going to find it. How ironic then, that I'm perfectly willing to go running back to you if you'd ever have me. Foolish, foolish Ian... |
