Iced Tea Day/Mourn For Your Money Day/Career Nursing Assistants' Day
2004-06-10 @ 11:41 p.m.
Our SLOs have hatched a nefarious scheme to circumvent the lights out rule. It involves barring entry to each level's corridor via the emergency exit by locking it, and placing obstacles at the gates that the teachers on patrol will have to remove, so we'll hear them coming. I'm amused by the fact that it was their teacher-in-charge who abetted them in this "crime", by leading all the other teachers away so the SLOs could plot in peace. I'm also dripping wet because my group dunked all the guys in the landscape ponds of dubious water quality. I refused to be thrown in with my handphone and glasses, so I jumped in to pose for photographs with the rest of the guys. The girls aren't sporting at all! Even Audrey refused to let herself get thrown in. Operation Test of Life I never realised how pedestrian-unfriednly Sentosa is. We spent most of our time trying to hurry between the checkpoints, and I think the whole afternoon was a really trying experience. It's a miracle no one snapped, because today we'd been disagreeing more than we'd ever had. How silly it all seems now. This reminds me of Orientation! Haha, A2 is quite like J'faien, right down to the wacky SJI guy. (Sorry Gareth!) I kind of wish my group had just not bothered with the whole damn game after the first station, and just gone off to have fun and slack. Sun, sand, sea. I seriously want to live in Sentosa Cove. Imagine how fun that'd be... Reflections, Feedback, Evaluation and Photo-taking This was the point where I realised that I hadn't really learnt much from the seminar per se, at least not about thriving in challenging times. I answered "no" to pretty much every question that had to do with gaining a greater understanding of anything. I've heard it all so many times before, it's stale. I was quite angry to read that an MP actually dared to attribute some of our comments to the natural scepticism of youth. Is it just a coincidence that the comments were questioning the stranglehold of the PAP on local politics? Singapore identifies creative and/or intelligent people, and proceeds to "nurture" them. Think evil, twisted scientist and his experiments! I'm no fan of conspiracy theories, but sometimes it's all like one big ploy to muzzle the very people who could seriously challenge the PAP, by incorporating them into the machinery. I hope the men in white don't visit this thing. I don't want to be thrown off the island. I want to leave of my own free will, and just maybe, Singapore can kiss my ass goodbye. Permanently. Of course, if the government suddenly decided to allow us to have dual citizenship...
