D-Day Anniversary/Applesauce Cake Day
2004-06-06 @ 11:44 p.m.

I've decided to keep a sort of logbook (sans meal times and briefings) for the duration of the seminar. Purely to satisfy the curiosity of any kind person who actually misses me, of course. So here goes nothing...

Registration
Amazingly, I arrived at school on time, despite having to wait forever for a cab. Audrey isn't really good at flagging cabs, neither is she very courteous. She tries to flag down cabs which are practically at the other end of the road, not even remotely near us. Not to mention that she calmly stepped in front of a couple who was also trying to flag down a cab. I wouldn't have minded, had the woman not been pregnant!

Arrived at RJC to find the gates locked, and the other punctual people standing like refugees outside. Had to climb in to drop off my library books. Irony of ironies, as I vaulted over a sign warning Rafflesians about the penalty for trespassing. Anyway, we all got to Prince George's Park on time. Sadly, I probably won't see much of the other RJC people, since we're rooming according to our seminar groups. The room's okay, but I can't imagine why NUS students want to live in it! It's downright claustrophobic! Just a bare bed, some cupboards, shelves and drawers, and a mirror and a sink. Oh, don't forget the musty smell which makes it seem like the room's never been aired since it's construction...

Operation Get-To-Know-You
The icebreakers were anything but. I think they did bring the group closer, but weren't really useful for helping us to know each other better. I must add here that I'm quite a loser. Here's the reason why: We played Evolution, this funny game where you hatch from an egg, grow to a chick, then a chicken, mutate to a human, progress to Superman, then Ultraman, before you finally "graduate" from the whole bloody thing. I was one of the five losers left standing at the intra-group and intra-team stages, along with my groupmate, Diana. Sigh, I came so close both times to "graduating"! Well, we both exited the inter-team round fairly quickly, so there's some consolation in that.
