Cheese Day/Donut Days/Cheese Festival (Wisconsin)/Juggling Festival (West Virginia)/Cherry Festival (Illinois)/Hug Your Cat Day
2004-06-04 @ 10:12 a.m.

I wonder if I can collect my new glasses tomorrow? Frameless ones, which have really funky trapezium-shaped lenses. I've just come back from the airport, after a nice cup of Starbucks coffee and a slice of blueberry cheesecake. Haha, I think they were touched that we actually came to see them off. I flatly refuse to come receive them back though, because their return flight's even earlier, and I value my sleep too much. Maybe we can have a homecoming party? That'd be fun. By the way, has anyone noticed anything different about the blog? Yeah! The font's bigger now, because I bothered to find the fragment of HTML that determines font sizes and I changed all of them to 12, with line widths of 14. So everything looks nice and readable now! Going off to the exhibition now, be back later.

I'm back! This is about 12 hours after the above paragraph. The Lord Of The Rings exhibition was cool, if somewhat bland. Talk about oxymoronic feelings. It's just that the whole thing was just costumes, videos, and more costumes. Fine, so the walls were decorated with paintings and sketches, but you could probably have more fun reading the damn book, or watching the whole trilogy. It didn't help that the souvenirs were ridiculously expensive. I wanted to purchase this set of really beautiful bookmarks, until I learnt there were 29 of them in total, and half of them were sold out. I consoled myself with a set of stamps. Note to self: Reorganise stamp collection during the December holidays, starting with peeling the envelopes of stamps stuck in the bottom drawer. I wanted to buy the miniature sword pendants, but for $15, I think 77th Street has more interesting, if also more expensive, possibilities with its chokers. I'm a highly evolved slacker...
