Thanks to Jennifer, ended up having to dress up to attend Vocal Exploits. Aimed for the casual chic look. I think I failed, but Jennifer bluntly pointed out that the guys looked smart in shirts. The hidden implication there, of course, is that we look stupid otherwise. If I ever get any of the pictures we took, I'll try to scan it and upload it somewhere so everyone can take a look. I thought it looked quite okay, wouldn't have minded looking like a hobo actually, if only to annoy her. Amused by Bing Wei's comments, which were something along the lines of "Looking good." Well, the chorale was good! They ought to be, considering how they've slaving away the past few months. Still, I think most of the concert wasn't particularly memorable, (sorry Chernise), but Punch was brilliant! They were so damn funny! After the concert, went out to Lau Pa Sat with some people from our senior class, where I discovered delicious bandung! Unfortunately, it was way past 11 pm by the time we decided to leave, and I think the section of the MRT line that includes Yishun is closed at that time. So ended up sharing a cab with three people, to Braddell, Yio Chu Kang, Yishun and Yew Tee. The division of payment is complicated because we're trying to be fair to the people who get off earlier. Oh, and I'm absolutely disgusted at the behaviour of Singapore cabbies. I'm sitting in a cab right now, that I flagged down at five minutes to midnight, and already I'm being charged the midnight surcharge. It's appalling I tell you. We stood at the junction for 15 minutes, trying to flag down cabs to take three groups of people home. Not a single cab stopped for us until one of those maxi-cabs came along. That driver was a good person. All the rest were damnable money-grubbers! What happened to being gracious Singaporeans? I mean, get real, do you expect us to believe that all of you are on call or hired? It's nearly midnight, who hired you? The corpses from the graveyards? Quite mad at cab drivers now. I used to feel sorry that they had to drive people around all day, but now I'm just disgusted by their behaviour. Yeah, I know they have to make a living, but can't they be just that little bit less obsessed with that? Oh yeah, and a very happy birthday to myself too. |
