Damn, it just occurred to me that I have a Mathematics lecture test on Tuesday, which I haven't studied for at all! I probably have some work due on Monday or Tuesday which will invariably get left undone through a temporary lapse of my memory. Oh well, no matter! Errare humanum est, ignoscere divinum. To err is human, to forgive divine. Aren't the original Latin words just beautiful? I like Latin, it has a certain gravity to its tone as a language, that modern English just doesn't have. Shakespearean English was lovely, I grant you that, but modern English is horrible to hear in my opinion. It lacks musicality like French, Italian (most Romance languages actually), and Quenya. You should check out Ethnologue.com, and be amazed at the multitude of languages out there in the world. I intend to read the Bible in Latin someday, and actually understand it. Maybe I should start with the French version first? I think I want to study something related to languages at the tertiary level. Seems like a pretty useless thing to study, right? I don't care, as long as I'm happy studying it, why the heck should anyone else be bothered? Bugger, shall go sleep now so that I won't be too stoned tomorrow on the train to study for the lecture test... |
