Dream Of Your Sweetheart Day/Friday The 13th/I Value Our Friendship Day/Blame Someone Else Day/Final Warning Day/Duck Days (California)/Valentine's Day Weekend (Georgia)
2004-02-13 @ 11:15 p.m.

How freaky. A fire broke out on the eighth floor of my block, sometime around midnight. There was this guy pounding on our door, who then told us about the fire. He actually told us to get out of the house, but my dad told us to stay put while he went down to find out what was going on. Turns out, it was some rubbish that caught fire at the lift landing. Arson perhaps? Well, at least it didn't happen earlier, or I wouldn't have finished my Economics essay. I hate writing essays! As someone pointed out in my OG blog, I'm perpetually distracted from the next essay. That really sucks when you have several to finish at a given time, which thankfully, hasn't occurred yet! I'll probably go hide somewhere when it does...

She did get the rose after all, which was a yellow one, so perish whatever thoughts you were about to have, for yellow roses symbolise friendship. Haha, why I bought her the rose is a long story, suffice to say it was more of a joke than anything else. It was quite a good day in school, considering they switched our Wednesday and Friday timetables because of Total Defence Day activities, which I think is pretty daft, considering we only start thinking about it like for a week each year. It doesn't really help that RJC didn't even broadcast the message made at noon, because that was an interruption to our lectures and tutorials. Good grief, they posted the message on the school website and notice boards, but do they actually expect us to read it? Don't be stupid, who the hell cares about the message? We could barely even hear the siren in LT 2!

That said, I did get to slack for most of the afternoon. Got my buddies in our senior class a gift, one of those test-tubes the Interact Club has been selling, with their names inside in macaroni letters. The stuff is actually Gatsby hair gel I suspect, judging by the smell and the colours used. Went out with a bunch of classmates to MacDonald's, after the opening ceremony, because we all didn't sign up for any of the activities. Then we got tired of the place, and went back to RJC, where some of us proceeded to (attempt to) help out with the props for Drama Feste. Who's going for it? Then had to take a cab down to French with Chernise, because Daniel disappeared and Thong had already gone to Bishan earlier. Sigh, French was so lame today! We spent half the lesson trying to figure out ways to worm our way out of embarrassing social situations. French these days is not very productive, and why don't we get breaks anymore? Sigh...
