Today was wicked! The after-school programme was way more fun than the actual orientation programme for today itself. The games basically consisted of walking/running around the campus looking for coconuts and bananas, and maybe performing a few challenges along the way. If that sounds dumb, it's related to the storyline for Orientation 2004. Was a little bored, but my faction won anyway. It's quite obvious that the factions are going to tie in their scores, 2 Aryae each. Then by tomorrow afternoon, we'll end the whole story by becoming one big happy family! Okay, so after the games ended about 1 pm, we went to Shang Jin's house. More accurately, we went to her basement to use the mahjong table and the Playstation. My OG is like doomed to gamble! Every outing we've had has involved mahjong and/or cards. I've picked up mahjong! Quite tragic, I got a hand that could have won immediately, just short of a tile or two to make either a pair or a triplet. Then we left for Suntec City, which is where the real fun began... At 7.30 pm, the DJ announced that we were going to dance! It was so damn cool! Our batch dance, Soleilas, is so damn cool! I still screw up about 50% of the moves though. So we danced that, then the Rain Dance, before someone shouted out the police were here. That turned out to be a false alarm. Went to a food court for dinner, because my OG has a predilection for food courts. Then we went over to the Esplanade, where they had just been dispersed by the police! Maybe next time we should just dance at the huge indoor area at City Hall MRT? Anyway, we ended up under the bridge at the Esplanade, because it seems that if you gather there, it doesn't constitute an illegal assembly. Singapore is so screwed up! We sang our batch song, which also rocks. We danced Soleilas, followed by the Rain Dance. Then the OGLs did the Sun Dance, which is learnt by the Orientation Team only. This is where Amogh comes in. You see, Amogh is a really good dancer. The J2s did their batch dance, then Amogh danced with the J3s for their batch dance. He was getting started on the J4 batch dance, but everyone else abandoned him so he stopped. We sang the batch song again, and we were so damn psyched even though it was way past 10 pm! Man, I wouldn't have minded staying even longer, but it was getting way too late for my mum's comfort. Damn, it was fun! |
