Went to Gabriel's house yesterday with half of my OG. Forgot to ask why the girls weren't there. It was so funny! Alina was like losing terribly at mahjong for the first half of the day, then everyong was laughing at her. Very evil of us, but it was damn funny! Then all of a sudden she started winning. I'm glad I don't play mahjong. I played bridge and big two, and I think I won slightly more than half of my games. Everyone bids so conservatively, or maybe it was just the distribution of the cards. I've never played so many 1-contracts before! The best part was winning two hands of big two in exactly the same manner. Full house, pair, pair, game. Watching everyone's reaction was hilarious! Then we had dinner, played a while more, then went home. Now I know how to get home from Serangoon Gardens, what an accomplishment. Need to learn how to get home from Holland Village, especially if I intend to frequent that area in the future! Sigh, when RJC moves it'll be quite sad, because there's really nothing in Bishan in my humble opinion... I went in for service today, because there was Holy Communion. When you've been confirmed, it's very important to go in for main service, especially when there's Holy Communion. That was more or less what Kenneth has been telling us these past few weeks. Sigh, but the sermon today was quite boring. Maybe it's just me? I missed most of YE today because we were celebrating my maternal grandfather's 90th birthday. Saw so many people I haven't seen in a long while. If you look at my cousins, then look at me, you wouldn't believe we're related. That's how different we are, virtually nothing in common. It's just so weird being around them! Okay, so the first cell discussion that I sat in as a supervisor went fairly well. Then again, we took nearly half an hour just to come up with a group name. Sarah'll be fine as the cell leader, so I've got no idea why she doesn't want to be one. By the way, I think the new system we have of rotating the cells on duty is self-defeating. The worship team is divided between two out of the half a dozen cells! What else can people not playing or singing do but arrange chairs and look for transparencies? I felt so guilty today, because I was supposed to find people to help Uncle Leng Khoon sort books in the library, but I'd totally forgotten about it until this morning when he called me! So I got the cell on duty to go help out. I suppose it must have turned out fine, since Kenneth even thanked me for my help. Thanks to the girls, as I think they were probably the ones helping... |
