Admission Day (Texas)/Bowling Day/Ice Skating Day
2003-12-29 @ 10:18 p.m.

Someone in my block just died today, and they brought the corpse down in one of the lifts. Too bad I didn't witness it though, not quite your average day in the neighbourhood. I was at Karaoke Box, the latest fad in Singapore, or so it would seem. Rent a room, and spend the afternoon belting out the latest Chinese hits, and ancient English songs. They have Cantonese, Malay, Japanese and Thai songs for the more linguistically gifted! I think the karaoke videos they shoot when they can't use the original music video are horrible. The videos have no relevance to the songs! They show either scenery or one person prancing around the screen! Meaningless crap. Went there because we were celebrating Jin Jie's birthday, and Sing Yong apparently loves to visit the place. He went there yesterday, went there today, and is going there tomorrow! I do think it's a passing fad in Singapore though, because there's only so much entertainment one can derive from such a place. For me, the novelty has already worn off, so I don't think I'll be paying them a second visit anytime soon. They're expanding pretty quickly, opening at least three new outlets in the near future. That includes two at Cineleisure, where they've taken over the arcade. I spent an entire afternoon there, listening to Yi Han for at least a third of that time. Oh, and all six students who auditioned are joining RJC Chorale. After looking at the practice times, I feel that I should at least consider joining. I shall reserve judgement on this matter until a much later date...
