I'm watching another French movie right now. The only problem is that it has French subtitles for whatever weird reason. Moving through the traffic on Phuket Island can be quite a harrowing experience as I've found out. The road leading to the Holiday Inn Resort where I'm staying consists of several twists and turns at angles you'll never find in Singapore, not to mention numerous slopes along the way. Oh, and our mode of transport today was damn cool! For 1100 baht, we hired a taxi, because it was a lot cheaper than taking the hotel's chartered bus. Truth be told, it was really more like having your own chauffeur for those three hours! So we drove down to the hypermarket today. We stopped at the Phuket Sea Shell Museum en route. That place is amazing! The walls leading down into the museum proper are covered in thousands of tiny shells, and there are hundreds more bigger specimens inside. Did you know, scallops come in a variety of colours? From red to orange to yellow to purple. Looking at all those shells, I was tempted to start collecting them like Audrey does now. Then I figured it was too much trouble. I mean, people dive down into oceans all over the globe to find all those beautiful shells! I don't have the time to do that, and probably never will... |
