I feel so proud of myself. I just finished picking out all the songs for tomorrow's worship. Considering I was only asked to substitute for tomorrow at 10 pm, I think it's safe to say that I'm good! I even managed to put together a music team for tomorrow with all the instruments. Okay, I suppose now I should say something about the choir concert. The choir performed a lot of old songs, including all three of our SYF pieces, so it was a little boring listening to them. Even the carols were songs we've sung in previous years. Their Latin pronunciation was wrong too, at least I think it is based on what I've been studying so far. Given the amount of time they had to put the concert together though, it was nonetheless a good effort on their part. At least there was an element of audience participation, because the audience sang Joy To The World and this strange version of Silent Night with the choir. I thought the sign language during Love In Any Language was pretty nice. RJC Chorale's Riu Riu Chiu was good, especially the part when Hong King and two other guys entered the stage and the rest of the chorale marched in from the side doors. The item that I liked best though, was the one which had the Raffles Ringers from RGS performing alone. I loved the handbells! I think the way they ring the handbells is damn cool! I think I'll go listen to a handbell choir performance sometime, if I can even find one... |
