If you're thinking this update is a little on the early side, it's because I don't want to waste time logging on later. Anyway, I can't see how I'm going to finish studying for all my 10 subjects! Never mind, I'll manage somehow, through a miracle no doubt. I certainly don't intend to be appealing to stay in JC after the first three months. I think my Literature is in quite a sad state now, probably going to screw up the whole Paper 2 on the short stories. I'm happy to announce though, that my essay on To Make A Prairie was a successful A1. So now I'm going to memorise what I said in that essay, because if the question calls for personal response, I'm definitely using that poem. Firstly, who would expect anyone to try using that poem? It's so short, you'd think there was hardly anything to write about, let alone attempt a personal response. Not if you take a philosophical approach to the poem though, to paraphrase one of the other Literature teachers. Secondly, picking the short poem makes people sit up and take notice of what you're writing, which can be a good or bad thing. Wish me luck! I'm going back to mug Biology...
