Tuxedo Day/Scarecrow Festival (Illinois)/Egg Day/Turkey Trot Festival (Arkansas)/Cheese Festival (Oklahoma)
2003-10-10 @ 5:33 p.m.

The monotony of the week was broken by a singular episode today. Before lessons began, Mrs Lim came in to tell us Mr Johari wasn't in school, so she'd be taking over his lesson, as usual. For once, someone actually dared to vocalise a protest! Kudos to Sing Kiat on having the guts to stand up to her. Anyway, all he did was point out that we've had more Additional Mathematics lessons this week than any other subject, including Higher Chinese which is quite amazing, and she got upset. She decided to forget about taking Mr Johari's lesson, and stalked out of class. An hour later, after Chemistry provided a temporary lull from the tension that pervades every day now, she strode purposefully into the classroom, announced that she was cancelling next week's extra lessons, and as for our practice papers, it was up to us what we wanted to do. Basically, she was overreacting again! The funniest part was when she stormed out of class and tried to slam the door. I say tried, because the heavens must have taken pity on us at that moment, so the door not only failed to slam, it closed with the softest click. That was damn amusing! Anyway, we were debating during recess whether to apologise to her, and ask her to come back for the lesson after all. Eventually, the naysayers won, and we waited with bated breath to see if she would come looking for us the rest of the day.
