Sister's Day
2003-08-05 @ 6:39 p.m.

Ok, the LAN network was screwed up last night, so my dad called the guy to come and fix it. Now everything's working just fine, though the speed doesn't seem very different. I could be wrong though, not that I really care. School today, which seems to be all I talk about nowadays, was mildly entertaining, particularly Literature. Mrs Smith was berating me for smoking during my Julius Caesar paper, which I confess I was doing. It's not my fault, what else could I do? Anyway, I sort of redeemed myself by making an intelligent statement towards the end of the lesson, after having maintained silence for nearly an hour. It's nice to know she does admit I have a brain after all! I particularly liked the part where Xunqi was trying to counter my point, but Mrs Smith twisted it around and he ended up substantiating it further! Poor thing, he was quite tongue-tied. Yi-Xun is such a loser, can't even get a simple presentation done with a group of seven people!

I was supposed to run my 2.4-km run again today, but God was being kind today, as it rained during my fourth round and we had to stop. So now I think I won't have to run anymore, since I passed, but I'll just have to redo my station tests, but I'll still fail overall anyway, because I can't do a single pull-up. Pathetic, but it's an inescapable fact. Anyway, today was a day for chance meetings, or so it seemed. After going to the MOELC library, where I borroed a book called Slum City along with that Maupassant collection, Zheng Yang and I met Ms Oei at the bus interchange. Quite surprising, as it was only 4.45 pm and Ms Oei usually doesn't leave school that early. Then I alighted at Yishun, and coming out from the gantries, I bumped into Wee Ming, my camp leader at my Sec 1 GEP Camp. He still recognised me, and it really hit me then how time has flown. Felt inspired to write a poem, but I'm currently too busy with the computer. Perhaps tonight?

What the hell? I just learnt that there's a rehearsal tomorrow for some lame National Day celebration concert item that the choir is performing. I flatly refuse to go. French is way more interesting, and important, than singing ultra-patriotic songs which I think are absolutely bullshit. So there, don't bother looking for me on Thursday, I'll make as early a disappearance as possible. I don't see why we should be involved, meaning the Secondary 4s. Now where did that line come from? Ring a bell for any 4Q people?
