Cuckoo Warning Day/Peaches & Cream Day/Summer Solstice/Midsummer's Eve/Blueberry Festival (Louisiana)/Pepperfest (Oklahoma)/State Laurel Festival (Pennsylvania)/Hollerin' Contest (North Carolina)/Summer Solstice Celebration (Utah)

Reunion was a blast! Nearly half of the class of '99 showed up, which was very good. So many things to write about, where do I begin? Let me go through the highlights in chronological order. First up, we have my stupid blunder in planning my rendezvous with Yi Lin, Eugene and Wei Liang. Clever old me took the MRT to Changi Airport, then bus 36 to ECP. From the bus stop along the ECP, I walked a few kilometres to the MacDonald's at the other end of the park. By the time I got there, my shirt was a few shades darker! I was so tired, I couldn't be bothered to eat lunch. I just ordered a large Coke and finished it.

Then we went out to stake a spot. We walked, and then we sort of realised we had no idea what we were actually looking for! So since we happened to be standing in an open area at a crossroads, I suggested we just stop there. So we sat down and started playing Dai Dee. I think I'm not very good at it, I lost five times in total. Well, I did win a couple of games, but on the whole I do prefer bridge a whole lot more. Then Chris showed up. This is where it gets exciting.

There was this ball, and Chris was kicking it around. It happened to whack into my face by accident. Of course, my glasses were bent, but the most amusing thing was the lens fell out. Then all of us spent 15 min looking for the lens, out of guilt perhaps? We were about to give up, when we found it in the most unlikely of places - the plastic bag we were keeping the dinner money in! It was damn funny! Anyway, I spent the next few minutes rubbing my poor eye, and trying to self-repair my glasses.

The next major event was playing the first game of Twister! Not bad, until I got stuck beside Kelvin, who's bigger than me! Anyway, dinner was 16 pizzas. We ordered too much! Yi Lin made one order for eight, then KFC wouldn't deliver to East Coast Park, although there were HDB flats on the opposite side of the road! So I made another order for eight pizzas from Canadian Pizzas. Then we got worried, because we didn't have enough money to pay yet, and we were beginning to think we had ordered way too much. We ended throwing about five pizzas away?

Things started to get pretty lively around dinnertime, when Choon Hwee showed up. She kept repeating that "Whoa!" line from Finding Nemo, which was cute the first time, but painful the subsequent times! Anyway, we ended up playing Twister again. Yi Lin and I were left on the mat, and Eugene was like, "Ian, your pants are really falling off." Like, maybe I'm an exhibitionist at heart? In the end, we both got tired of Choon Hwee's shenanigans with the Twister spinner, so we quit together!

The rest of the evening and the night was spent playing games which Choon Hwee thought up, interspersed by trips to 7-Eleven for Slurpees! There're very cheap now, two for $1.80! I couldn't resist! Choon Hwee stole one of my apple Slurpees, and then gave it to the girls. Oh well, I'm a nice guy. I think the best game was Mafia, but only in a small group like what we did later. The first time we tried, we got nearly everybody to play and it was madness, because everyone was cheating. Murderer was quite fun too, it's damn hard to wink at people in darkness!

When it was all over, I hitched a ride from Yi-Xun to Bugis. Maybe I should have told him to drop me somewhere along the NEL? That would have been fun. Anyway, I bought another Coke, a medium this time. I think I consumed more sugar yesterday than I consumed in the past fortnight! Overall, I'd say this reunion was way more successful than the previous one! Kudos to Yi Lin, my co-organiser and everyone who showed up! Hope to see all of you guys at the next one!
