Cheese Day
2003-06-04 @ 10:19 p.m.

By the way, Yi-Xun got a blog. I find that so amusing. In my not-so-humble opinion, that is totally out-of-character for him. Maybe he just likes the URL? Zheng Yang's update tonight is so lame though. Well, what do you expect from someone who thinks his sole role at camp is to have fun? Argh, how to collect money for choir t-shirts when there's no more practice until the holidays? Still have $400 plus to go and my teacher's chasing me for it! So ridiculous, I have yet to get my t-shirt. I feel so bored now. It's a different kind of boredom, the way I see it. I think I'm losing coherence so I ought to move on. Our NYPS GEP '99 reunion is scheduled for June 21. We have no programme yet, no food yet, not even people! Everyone's so unethusiastic, it's starting to kill my enthusiasm! I don't know, the guys seem ok with the idea, but the girls are strangely unresponsive. I though girls were into these sentimental kind of gatherings? Oh well, let's just hope it all works out eventually, somehow...

I'm making progress with the Quenya course, albeit at a snail's pace, literally. It doesn't help that there are no English equivalents to the most important Quenya vowel sounds! So I'm just approximating them, in exactly the way speakers were supposed to avoid pronouncing the vowels! The pile of books by my bed also beckons, but at the same time intimidates. I reckon it's because of the sheer diversity of what I have to read. Four novels, one science fiction, one fantasy and two fiction. Those are just the library books! There's still the Hannibal Lecter trilogy gathering dust in my cupboard after I plowed through Red Dragon, a Left Behind book I've got stuck at in the first few chapters, a couple of Tolkien books, lots of Chinese books, one French book and a National Geographic Magazine. The sheer volume of reading material available in my room is astounding. Not to mention my e-book collection on my other computer. I think it was 20 e-books so far, with hundreds more to download from some websites! I surrender...
