Pretzel Day
2003-04-26 @ 9:11 p.m.

I just bought another Tolkien book and The Hours by Michael Cunningham. I actually wanted to get another Tolkien book, but I couldn't find it. Now I have this not-so-irrational fear that I'll never find it. I bought The Hours because I wanted to watch it actually, but I didn't go out because of SARS. So I figured the book would be a good substitute! Anyway, I've given up on the Michael Palmer compendium I borrowed from the school library. For one, it's very thick, and it's starting to get a little boring. Medical thrillers either work or they don't, for me at least. Tess Gerritsen isn't too bad. She's the only author who's written a book, The Surgeon, which I finished in 24 hours! Besides, what's a medical thriller compared to Lady Chatterly's Lover?

Today's mock Higher Chinese Paper 1 was not too bad. I roughly knew the questions in advance. Although I think I won't do very well, partly because I never write well in Chinese anyway and this time everything I wrote came out of my own head, instead of Teck Tee's. I hate writing in Chinese! Well, at least I didn't have to go for practice today. I was proven right. It was a waste of time to go there at 7.30 am as I mentioned before. I think PT is very badly coordinated these days.
